SUMMER 2008 DYMAX LIGHT LINES - Making Your Manufacturing More Efficient

Light-Curing Needle Bonding Adhesive has
Stronger Bonds!

DYMAX light-curing MD® Medical Device Adhesive 1162-M has been developed for bonding needles, syringes and other stainless steel cannula. 1162-M is low viscosity adhesive for quick, air-free dispensing into needle hub cavities. DYMAX 1162-M bonds stainless steel cannula to polycarbonate, PVC, glass, and polypropylene hubs. It produces clear bonds that exceed pull forces of other available adhesives in various needle bonding applications. Read more>>>

Conformal Coating Meets MIL-I-46058C and
IPC-CC-830B Requirements

Conformal Coating Multi-Cure® 987 has met the requirements of MIL-I-46058C and IPC-CC-830B. Multi-Cure 987 is specifically formulated for rapid room temperature cure when exposed to UV and/or visible light. Any coating in shadowed areas on densely populated circuit boards may be cured with heat. Based on DYMAX Multi-Cure® 984-LVUF, 987 is designed with better wetting on circuitry and components. This product dispenses easily and cures quickly for precise quantity and placement. Read more>>>

Form-in-Place Gasket Adhesive Provides Moisture Resistance

DYMAX introduces a moisture-resistant gasketing resin for sealing electrical conduit boxes, appliance housings, and critical electronic assemblies and devices. Ultra Light-Weld® GA-111 is a UV/Visible light-curable form-in-place (FIP) gasket developed for applications requiring low compression set, tack-free surface, and durable, reliable sealing. It is a soft gasket material with high adhesion to metals while providing a barrier to prevent absorption or penetration of air, dust, moisture, liquids and gaseous substances. Read more>>>

QUESTION of the QUARTER:

Q:  How do I know when a DYMAX material is fully cured?

A:  The simplest answer is that the DYMAX material is cured when the material changes from a liquid to a solid. Oftentimes, this explanation is satisfactory. A more complete answer, however, is that a DYMAX Light Curing Material (LCM) is fully cured when further curing does not improve its physical properties. Quantitative testing of specimens cured for various cure times can be used to determine complete cure. For more information, see pages 20-21 of our Comprehensive Guide to DYMAX UV Light Curing Technology.
