Ultra Light-Weld® 3013 Adhesive Bonds Dissimilar Materials in Seconds
Ultra Light-Weld® 3013 is a resilient, low-viscosity, moisture-resistant adhesive designed for rapid bonding to a wide variety of plastic and metal substrates. The product forms high-strength, environmentally resistant bonds for appliance assembly, bond joint and sealing, plastic window bonding, and plastic assembly.
Ultra Light-Weld 3013 dispenses easily for precise quantity and placement of adhesive, and fluoresces blue under low-intensity “black” light (365 nm), allowing for in-line quality control utilizing optical scanners. This solvent-free, worker-friendly adhesive cures in seconds upon exposure to ultraviolet and visible light – even through UV-blocked plastics – allowing for increased production speed and lower processing costs. MD® 1193M-SV05-UR Adhesive Fluoresces Bright Red for Easy Bond Line Inspection and Product Identification
1193M-SV05-UR is a multipurpose medical-device adhesive which cures quickly upon exposure to UV and/or visible light, making it ideal for automated assembly lines. It is designed for rapid bonding of transparent or translucent polycarbonate, PVC alloys, ABS, polyurethane, polystyrene, and stainless steel typically used in the manufacture of syringes and needles. Its narrow viscosity range is ideally suited for high-speed automated needle-assembly machines where batch-to-batch consistency is crucial.
This adhesive is formulated with Dymax’s patented Ultra-Red™ technology and fluoresces bright red under low-intensity "black" light (365 nm). The red fluorescence contrasts extremely well on plastics that naturally fluoresce blue in color (like PVC), and greatly assists with visual inspection of the bond-line area. Read more… |

Enhanced Guides Enable Easier Selection of Catheter and Needle-Bonding Adhesives
Dymax is proud to announce the release of two new enhanced selector guides; one for CTH-series catheter assembly adhesives and the other for Dymax needle bonders. These valuable reference tools provide detailed guidance intended to help R&D engineers and product designers choose the appropriate adhesive for their medical device application. The upgraded documents include comprehensive charts that include the various adhesives available, their technical data (such as viscosity and durometer hardness), and the various substrates to which they adhere. Several useful reference charts and tables provide additional information about the adhesives. The guides also contain a selection of Dymax dispensing and curing equipment built to optimize both performance and cost savings.

TECH TIP
| Q: |
“Micro air bubbles are finding their way into my dispensing process. Do you have any tips on how to minimize or eliminate air bubbles?" |
| A: |
If you are ordering adhesive in syringes or cartridges, try storing the syringes or cartridges in an upright position. The caps should be pointed toward the ceiling. Storing syringes and cartridges in this manner allows the air to travel closest to the point of exit.
When you are ready to dispense the adhesive, make sure that the syringe remains in the upright position while you remove the syringe’s cap and attach it to the valve or the syringe needle. Purge the system (while upright) of any air bubbles that may have been produced by screwing or unscrewing the cap or valve. A threaded system has a tendency to introduce micro air bubbles.
